Technology

Students in grades 1-5 attend technology class once a week. Students in grades 6-8 attend technology class twice a week. The National Educational Technology Standards for students are the foundation of our curriculum:
  1. Basic operations and concepts
  2. Social, ethical, and human issues
  3. Technology productivity tools
  4. Technology communication tools
  5. Technology research tools
  6. Technology problem-solving and decision-making tools
To enhance our curriculum, we use Gaggle.net. Gaggle allows students to email, blog, share files, and post profiles within a secure school environment. We also teach word processing, desktop publishing, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office. Students regularly use the Internet, learning how to effectively and efficiently search in a safe and ethical manner.
In addition to technology classes, students use computers in the classrooms everyday. Accelerated Reader is our campus-wide online quiz program used to improve reading comprehension.
